I know I have like 4 months left but I am struggling to come up with a solid name for Miss Baby Girl. I have a list of like 20 names and I just cant decide. Has anyone else had such a major dilemma with picking a name? Any suggestions that you wouldn't mind sharing? I like the old fashioned/vintage names. Or even new and cutsie is fine too. But just not over used or "off the wall" weird.
Please help and put a name down in my comments! LOL
Camrie is a wonderful name. Just sayin...
ReplyDeleteI have always thought Claire was a cute name, but I have a niece named Claire so I can't ever use it.
ReplyDeleteTips people gave me...
listen to names in movie or in books you read and look through family names. Good luck!
Tiana is a great name and i can totally let you use that one. There are lots of great names so it is hard to choose. Once we found Sariah's name I couldn't think of any other ones that fit little miss. We said it and any other name we said didn't seem to fit. I don't know if that makes sense or not but you will find one. I really like the name Hannah Grace...I was going to name my 2nd girl Hannah but my brother named his daughter Hannah...who know's I might use it but you can totally use it too. Oh and we might be moving to AZ at the end of the month.
ReplyDeleteI love the name Blythe!
ReplyDeleteNo worries....we had a hard time coming up with our son's name too;)) If I could give some advise...don't tell anyone the name bc you will get some crazy remarks..LOL.
ReplyDeleteOh and I love the names Madison and Bella ;))
Go through some of the family names on both your sides..you never know when one will just hit the right note with both of you..and it has the added benefit of having a 'history' to it.
ReplyDeleteI like Samantha, Elizabeth, Emma, Jane, Irene, Stella, Brenna, Kathleen, Helen, Zoe, Sophie, Madeline, Abby... hee, hee...I just hope someday I get to use at least one name out of my stockpile. :)
ReplyDeleteOne note about naming: Once in a writing class, someone mentioned that names which have a pattern in syllables sound good. For example, a friend of mine named her son Nathaniel Desmond Fry, syllable pattern: 3,2,1. You could do 2,1,2 or 2,2,2 or 2,3,2...eh, at least its something to think about for you, wich might inspire you and lead you to the perfect name for your little one. Have fun. What a wonderful and exciting dilemma to have! Congrats.
Okay all you people who say you can't use a name somebody else did--what are you thinking? Of course you can! I have a cousin with my exact same name--I saw her recently for the first time in several years and she confided in me that she always thought it was fun to have a cousin with the same name as her. I felt exactly the same! Big deal--there are a million people out there with your same name (well some of you!). If you like a name, use it!
ReplyDeleteWe named all of our kids after somebody who was important to us. I think it gives them an identity and it's fun to tell them about the people they are named for. That being said, it's always fun to just choose a name you like!
Zoie, Tabitha, Kella (my friend has a baby named Kella--Warrior Princess in Celtic)--find something with meaning!
I absolutely love the name Stella. Zach says no. Or Im loving Keagan right now. Chloe, Sophie, Claire, Olivia, Kate, Grace.
ReplyDeleteShare your list. I would love to see what you are thinking of.
ReplyDelete20 names? Wow We only have one for each sex I guess that might be because we had close to two years to try and think of what we might name our baby LOL. Well I say you name her Bella because Nolan wont let me use that name (because of twilight) Yet he wanted to name our boy if we had one Logan after Wolverine... I don't see the difference.. Hee Hee Anyways I want to see the names you have. You should have us vote on them :)
ReplyDeleteIf its a girl we're naming her Kate Berlin and if its a boy we're naming him Dean Riley. 20 months of trying to find names you get pretty set on the ones you like. :)
ReplyDeleteHey! A lot of the "top baby names" are the older, cute names... so just google that. To me names are all about variety. We are in love with the name Olivia... She can be that or Liv or Livvy. And let me tell you, its so fun calling my belly her name, and being able to talk to her! Good luck with the name search! And I hope all is going well with you!
ReplyDeletehaha... I totally just left that comment under Whitney's account! Sorry! She works with me here in Ut! Anyway... good luck again! :)
ReplyDeleteNames were so hard for Matt & I. We named both of our kids about 30 minutes before we left the hospital. I like unique but not too weird names. It think some good old fashioned ones are Adelaide & Charlotte. I have a friend named Ellice & I think that's really cute. Matt really wanted Evelyn for Madeline. Good luck! I'm sure whatever you pick will suit your little beauty just great.
ReplyDeleteName her whatever you want and then call her TJ
ReplyDeleteI dont have an account but yes that was from TJ
ReplyDeleteIf you name her 'Stella' I am afraid that I will be forced to use my 'chain smoker' voice when I say it. :) I can't help it. It's a PERFECT name for that impression. :)
ReplyDeleteName her whatever you like, we will all love it (or get over it) once we meet her!! ;) hehe...
I always think of 'Baby Mama' now... Banjo or Window Pane!!
My favorite girl names end in A. I just think they're so feminine sounding. Here's some faves... Nicola, Bianca, Fiona, Olivia, Alexa, Bella.
ReplyDeleteYou could always do Claira... that would be cute too. :) Puts a girly spin on Grandpa's 'Clair'.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about the name. Kemp and I have always had a hard time coming up with girl names. We have a lot a boy names we like though.
