We just had our third check up with Chelsea Cox one of our mid-wifes......YES Midwife! No I am not crazy and want to have my baby at my house. It will be in the hospital with an epidural!! LOL (Sorry to offend those who go that route...just not for me.) Our mid-wifes work as a team with other doctors, so if there were a problem they weren't able to handle, the docs are right there on call. I just loved the fact of the personable touch the Mid-Wifes have versus seeing your doctor for the 3 minutes of delivery. Since the nurses do most of the work anyway I figured these sweet ladies would be perfect and would be there throughout the entire labor. Plus they are wonderful for natural remedies and wont rush the labor to the point of C-section. ( I am not opposed to it, but if I can do it vaginally I would like to...sorry for the gross language.)
Well, during our check up Chelsea Cox had the little contraption on me to listen to the babies heart beat. I think we have a bouncer because she would have to move it every 2 seconds to find the heart beat again! haha It went like this...heartbeat....scratching sound....heart beat.....scratching sound...... She explained that the scratching sound was the baby moving. LOL Luke now for sure thinks its a boy! I asked her on our way out if she had any guess and she said girl. But who knows, some days I for sure think its a boy and other days a girl. We find out May first what we are having!! I will for sure let you all know!
I think the midwife route is great. I wish I had done it just to see if I could have done it any way other than a c section. How fun! I am so excited for you guys. I think we are coming to bv in three weeks so brent can do a little something for my tooth. We will definitely have to get together!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it exciting to hear that little heart? I love hearing it at every appointment. Just wait until you feel him/her. [By the way - some don't feel the baby until week 20 - every one is different. ;o)] You already registered? We are polar opposites. lol
ReplyDeleteSo, I totally knew I was having a boy both times. But I have heard that a faster heart beat is usually a girl!!! How exciting! Although, with my 2nd, Jaxon's heartbeat was super fast and the nurse even commented on how that saying that if it was faster it was a girl, must be wrong because his was faster and he was a boy....who really knows. I also heard that if you crave sour things you have a boy and if you crave sweet things you have a boy. I craved both:) You'll find out soon!!! You have to call me or text me when you find out!!! I can't wait!
