Goodbye Grandpa George

This past week my sweet Grandpa George Ray Clawson died. He was the cutest old man anyone has ever seen. His health had been declining rapidly over the past 5 years. He had knee surgery 4 years ago with a stroke over a couple of years ago. So we were bracing ourselves for this to come.

It had been 3 years since my wedding, when I had last seen my Grandpa (being up in here VA and them in ID). However, I was able to visit my Grandpa and Grandma this past August with my parents. And it had been even longer since the last time I was at their house. I am so grateful that I decided to stay and visit them, while my husband, who i cant stand not to have by my side, went back home for football camp. It was so nice to be able to sit and chat with the both of them. They took us to my Grandpa's favorite restaurant...the Golden Coral. I still cant believe how much steak he ate. lol

I remember taking Luke to my family reunion the summer before we got married. He got to meet my mom's special parents for the first time and the rest of the clan as well. My Grandpa George, slow with his stroke, gave each one of his grandkids a special blessing one bye one. And in his prayer and blessing to me he was so clear and so aware of what was going on in my life and what my needs were. He was always such a spiritual man. I can still see him doing his Mauri war dance for the rest of us.

I am sorry I am not able to attend your funeral but you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Grandpa for everything. We will miss you and love you. Until we meet again.
