Graduating From SVU

I just wanted to say a couple of words about graduating from a Small, Private, LDS, Liberal Arts University on the East Coast. We have been here for 2 1/2 years now and have grown a great love for this University and small town living. We have grown to the love Virginians and East Coasters. We are so grateful for this diamond in the rough school. There are roughly around 700 students that attend. So when I say small...its small. Everyone knows everyone and you literally walk away with 700 friends. This is a place that you can come live in a healthy LDS environment and still be a unique individual. A place where you can be involved and be a leader. Not many people know about the benefits of Liberal Arts University. In the way I describe it, Liberal Arts creates a broad foundation and an education that prepares you to become a problem solver for the future. Liberal Arts students statistically do better in post graduate education. They are not afraid of class interaction, papers, reading, and killer finals. They are taught how to interview, how to walk into any corporate position and be a leader, how to solve problems that have not even arised yet. They are taught by Professors that are over qualified, underpaid, and care a great deal about their students. Where else can you graduate from and know your President, Vice Presidents, Provost, Deans, and etc. We know them all! Who else has a school President that can sincerely say, "I love you," to his students. Not many.

I also wanted to shout out to our Bestest friends that are graduating! We will miss your faces like crazy!!!!! Sara, Pete, and Haylee Hansen. Holly and Ben Burningham. Andy and Emily Pace. Matt, Amber, Ana Hadfield. Marc, Nicky, and Zara Hadfield. JJ, Christanie, and Braiden.
